First Vilsack surprised us all with his ripping up concrete and laying down dirt*; with his comments about supporting local food; with his confession about childhood obesity.
Then on Monday—in what may have been a response to 87,000 + people asking for her or someone like her—Obama tapped Kathleen Merrigan to be the Deputy Secretary of Agriculture.
