Come celebrate Brooklyn's bounty and potential in creating a vibrant, local and sustainable food system. This unique, FREE and public event aims to bring a spirit of celebration to positive, engaging discussions throughout the days events, workshops and meals.

The conference will open with fanfare and a parade, followed by opening plenaries and a host of over 60 diverse workshops over the course of the morning and afternoon. Featured speakers include:

Raj Patel - Author of Stuffed and Starved: The Hidden Battle for the World Food System

LaDonna Redmond - President and CEO of the Institute of Community Resource Development in Chicago.

Dan Barber - Executive chef and co-owner of Blue Hill Restaurant

Anna Lappe - Author of Grub: Ideas for an Urban Organic Kitchen

The Brooklyn Food Conference is being organized by the The Brooklyn Food Coalition - a nonprofit seeking to bring together a uniquely broad and diverse community of activists and citizens to discuss and learn more about the critical food issues of our time and what role we as neighbors can play to address them.
