Early October is when pawpaws and persimmons ripen in southern Michigan. We’ll be visiting (and tasting from) an orchard with hundreds of these native, but nearly forgotten, American fruits. The orchard’s owner will be our tour guide, explaining how a desire to taste these rare fruits turned into an obsession.
