Time for Lunch

Ideas for Local Outreach

Here are some ideas for spreading the word in your community:

  • Ask your friends and family to get involved. Here's a template you can use to invite them.
  • Engage your coworkers during their lunch break.
  • Reach out to local PTAs, churches, schools, after-school programs, meet-up groups and partner organizations. Ask if they can forward an email to their networks, or if you can come talk at a future meeting.
  • Organize a potluck. Invite friends, neighbors, parents, teachers, school food workers, local farmers, and anyone else who’d like to get involved. Take some time to talk about what you can do right now for the campaign and what you can plan for the future (e.g. planting school gardens, organizing cooking classes for students and parents, etc.).
  • Organize a media event. Invite your legislator to school lunch, organize a cooking contest or invite a local chef to do a demonstration. We can help you plan a fun event that gets local media coverage and spreads the word in your community. .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) if you'd like help.
