Time for Lunch

Get Involved

The first step to getting healthier food into schools is encouraging Congress to pass a strong Child Nutrition Act.

The next step is meeting in person with other people who care. Find your local Slow Food chapter and ask how you can help out. Chapters organize potlucks, food and farming events, and local community projects.

If there’s no chapter in your area, send us an email. We’ll help you spread the word, meet people in your community, and get to work helping schools serve healthier food.

Forward-Ready Email

Dear [Friend],

I just sent an email to Congress telling them to help schools serve healthier food.

Will you join me?

http://slowfoodusa.org/timeforlunch

The first step to solving the child obesity epidemic is updating the National School Lunch Program. I told my legislators to invest in healthy food, strengthen nutrition standards, and link schools to local farms when Congress reauthorizes the Child Nutrition Act this year.

Thanks,

[Your name]
