Petaluma Gold Rush Bean
The Petaluma Gold Rush bean has an embrangled history laden with adventure. The bean was first brought to the US by a Peruvian whaler who neglected his occupational duties by jumping ship and smuggling the bean to Petaluma, California near the start of the American Gold Rush—the 1840s. This hearty plant is prolific in producing many flat, kidney-shaped beans. The beans are tan in color with specks and stripes of maroon and have a full flavor that is creamy and meaty.
