Amish Pie Squash
Curcurbita maxima
This squash, which is also referred to by its Latin name, Curcurbita maxima, originates with Amish gardeners in the mountains of Maryland. The oval shaped and slightly pointed squash can weigh up to 75 pounds. The Amish Pie Squash has pale orange flesh that is thick, sweet and moist.
